At Home – In the Woods

This issue of “At Home” is quite a bit late, but features our favourite fugitive!

After a close call with the police, Moran left the city to seek shelter in a cabin deep in the woods. While it might not be the safest place on earth, he might get some rest in there… unless the owners show up.

Finding the key in the bird house didn’t prove much of a problem for Moran and he carefully enters. The small lodge is stuffed with furniture from all over last century and in the kitchen, the fugitive finds enough canned food to keep him sustained for a while.
There’s dust all over the place and the air is a bit stale, but the only inhabitant seems to be a half-wild cat.

After sharing a can of baked beans, Moran and the cat decide to ignore each other for now. Finally, he finds a comfy spot where he can settle down and continue his search for his identity.

Moran can’t help and jumps at every noise outside, checking for cars or other dangers.

At Home – Mirror House

Today’s post will be in a slightly different format than usual. First of all, it’s not about one of my characters and their adventures, but about a place. Secondly, this place was not built / put together just for the purpose of a blogpost.
Follow me to Mirror Lake. As it lies hidden in a secluded little area, surrounded by small mountains, it is not easy to find Mirror House. The humble residence of the Szpiegel family was built by Corv’s great-grandfather Erich. Recently the Kitteh inherited it from his great-aunt.

When he moved in, Corvus left most of the things as they were. He never really knew any of his family and being surrounded by their belongings makes him feel closer to them. He did, however, add a few touches of his own here and there.

Most of the time, the Kitteh and his friends hang out by the fire, with the old-fashioned, but cosy kitchen right behind them. The furniture may be a little old and faded, but everything is still in good working order.

The bedroom area has probably seen the most changes. Great-aunt’s frilly and moth-eaten bed wasn’t quite Corv’s taste and he replaced it with something that doesn’t smell of dust and moth balls, and doesn’t have springs that poke your fur when you seriously try to catnap.

I hope you enjoyed the little tour around the house – it is a private place and normally only open to select guests.

Born: a jungle in another world
Occupation: tinkerer, involuntary air pirate, planestrider

Nathan’s mother was a wild jungle fae, his father a human clockmaker who served as a soldier in the colonies. Nathan grew up with his father, learned his trade and took over the clockmaker’s shop after his father died. One day, he was captured by air pirates who held him prisoner and forced him to maintain the engines of their airship for several years, before Nathan could escape.
He does not remember how he ended up in this world, but it looks like he has settled in here quite well.

Nathan dreads cold and rainy weather, his mother’s blood is strong in his veins and he can’t wait for summer.

Nathan is a character I could go on about for ages. Or write a book about. I have actually started, but meh, I’m lazy and stuff. I don’t use him very often in RP, but I still like him a lot.
